Relavanti: Simplifying the path to paradise
In an era where travel planning often feels like piecing together a chaotic puzzle, founder Ophir Ben-Yitschak has developed a technology product that he bets will emerge as an industry game-changer. Relavanti, a Milwaukee-based travel technology startup, aims to streamline the journey to the perfect trip by using AI and machine learning.
Ben-Yitschak is a travel and tourism industry veteran. Over the past 37 years, he has held various roles, including managing travel agencies and serving in various leadership positions at a well-known corporate travel company. In 2009, Ben-Yitschak launched his own company, specializing in customized group and family travel. His fascination with the intersection of trip planning and technology drove him to develop Relavanti.
“Many of my trips are extremely complex… clients come with chaos in their mind, and 90 percent of my job is to turn that chaos into order.” By creating a software tool that helps plan trips efficiently, Ben Yitschak aims to make trip planning less stressful and more enjoyable.
At the heart of Relavanti is the concept of holistic relevance. This approach recognizes that trip planning involves more than just booking flights and hotels; it’s about understanding the connections and relevance between various trip elements.
Relavanti allows users to view their trip from multiple angles, considering factors like proximity of hotels to airports and public transportation options. This holistic view helps travelers make informed decisions, ensuring all elements of their trip are interconnected and personalized to their preferences. Instead of jumping between multiple websites to gather information, users can find everything they need in one place, making the planning process more efficient and ultimately more enjoyable.
Currently, Relavanti operates on a freemium model, offering free access with advertising and commissions on bookings. However, Relavanti also provides users with opportunities to earn money by planning events through the software.
For example, if a bride plans her wedding using Relavanti, when she shares her itinerary with guests, she can include affiliate links to preferred suppliers, such as hotels, airlines, and tour operators. When those guests book services through these links, the bride earns a commission on each booking.
While Relavanti is designed for individual travelers and small groups, it also caters to travel agents. The software has a feature that enables travel agents to incorporate their preferred suppliers and offer clients a seamless planning experience.
The software is currently available as a beta release, but Relavanti plans to grow into a comprehensive travel ecosystem. This means expanding beyond the initial planning stages to encompass the entire travel experience. Users will be able to manage bookings, track their itineraries in real-time, and access local recommendations and services during their trips. By covering all aspects of travel, Relavanti aims to become the go-to platform for anyone involved in planning and organizing trips.
