Mumbies founder turns passion for dogs into growing business

Bradley Will already built a successful career running a Milwaukee-based marketing firm when a personal passion began tugging him in a new direction. A lifelong dog lover, Will decided to channel his entrepreneurial skills into a mission-driven venture: creating a sustainable business that could one day fund a Wisconsin dog sanctuary.

That vision became Mumbies, founded in 2023 and named after Mumble, a foster dog who inspired Will’s shift from marketing client campaigns to creating high-quality pet products. “Mumbies is for everybody,” Will said. “It’s something that brings people together.”

The company’s first product, a chew stick made from repurposed coffee wood, set the tone for its commitment to natural, non-toxic materials. Coffee wood is highly resistant to cracking and splintering, making it a safer alternative to ordinary sticks, and is sourced from Vietnam. Pet owners embraced the product as an eco-friendly choice that dogs love.

In November 2024, Mumbies expanded its line with freeze-dried bison liver treats, processed and packaged in Wisconsin from U.S.-sourced bison. The single-ingredient treats are rich in nutrients, and Will says dogs “go absolutely crazy for them” after their first taste.

Momentum has been strong. Mumbies has fulfilled more than 20,000 direct-to-consumer orders, placed products in about 15 independent and regional pet shops, and doubled revenue year over year. New products, including coconut husk rope toys, are in development.

The company’s growth and potential earned it a spot in the highly competitive gener8tor accelerator program, which provides mentorship and resources to promising startups. Will calls the experience “the greatest blessing” and credits the program with helping refine his vision for both the business and the sanctuary dream.

While the sanctuary is still on the horizon, Mumbies is already giving back. The company donates a portion of sales during special promotions to groups such as the Wisconsin Humane Society and K9s for Warriors. “We just try to stay connected to our customers,” Will said. “They’ve been so gracious in supporting us, and we do not take that for granted.”

With strong sales, a growing product line, and a mission that resonates with pet lovers, Mumbies is building more than a brand — it’s laying the foundation for a dream.
