Nexion Solutions expands partnerships to reach new users
Milwaukee-based Nexion Solutions continues to broaden the reach of its personal safety technology through new partnerships that extend into new geographies and serve additional high-risk populations.
Founded in 2021 to provide real-time emergency response through a discreet wearable device for people at high risk of violence, including domestic violence survivors and endangered witnesses, Nexion has steadily expanded its impact by working with crisis centers, healthcare providers and community organizations.
In 2025, the company expanded its footprint through its work with Pennsylvania-based Crisis Center North, a nonprofit that provides services to individuals affected by domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking. Through that partnership, the use of Nexion’s personal safety technology has extended beyond domestic violence survivors and high-risk witnesses to include human trafficking victims, a population that presents distinct challenges related to privacy, consent and safe access to emergency support.
Expanding into maternal health through MySwaddle
The company’s latest collaboration, a joint initiative with maternity-focused digital health platform MySwaddle, represents Nexion’s expansion into maternal health, a sector where safety risks are often compounded by limited access to resources.
Pregnant women are a population at heightened risk for harm. Maternal homicide is a leading cause of death during pregnancy and the postpartum period in the United States, particularly among Medicaid patients. Additionally, domestic violence during pregnancy has been linked to higher rates of preterm birth, low birth weight, miscarriage and disrupted prenatal care.
This partnership brings Nexion’s emergency-response capabilities into a maternity-focused digital health platform designed for Medicaid-eligible pregnant and postpartum patients, providing users with enhanced access to emergency support during a domestic violence crisis, embedded directly within the MySwaddle app.
By integrating safety technology into an existing maternity platform, the collaboration aims to provide pregnant women with a discreet tool for accessing emergency support without introducing additional devices or drawing attention.
“At its core, this collaboration is about well-being, equitable access to support and responsible innovation,” said Liz Kohler, founder and CEO of Nexion Solutions. “Addressing maternal health requires integrated approaches that combine healthcare access with safety, advocacy and social support.”
