Meet Dr. Jessical Silvaggi, a key innovator in Milwaukee’s startup ecosystem. In July, Silvaggi became president of University of Wisconsin Milwaukee Research Foundation (UWMRF). The Connecticut native earned her PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Harvard University and has worked in the organization since 2009. UWMRF was launched in 2006 to support research and Silvaggi leads UWMRF into the future

Ilya Avdeev has been named the new director of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Lubar Entrepreneurship Center (LEC). Avdeev, an associate professor of mechanical engineering, previously served as the LEC’s director of innovation.
