gener8tor and WCTC launch spring gBETA cohort focused on applied AI
Five early-stage startups have joined the Spring 2026 cohort of gBETA at Waukesha County Technical College’s Applied AI Lab, a seven-week accelerator designed to help early-stage companies gain traction and connect with mentors and investors.
The program is run through a partnership between Waukesha Country Technical College (WCTC) and gener8tor, a global venture firm and accelerator network. The collaboration aims to support AI-enabled startups while strengthening innovation and job growth in Waukesha County and the broader region.
The Applied AI Lab at WCTC serves as both an educational resource and a hub for entrepreneurship and business collaboration. The lab works with employers and industry partners to identify real-world use cases for artificial intelligence and help businesses adopt AI tools and strategies.
Through workshops, training programs and applied research opportunities, the lab provides students, entrepreneurs and local organizations hands-on access to AI technologies. The goal is to help companies develop data-driven solutions while preparing the regional workforce for the growing role of artificial intelligence across industries.
The Spring 2026 cohort includes startups working across health care, environmental monitoring, AI search and automation.
- Toronto-based TalkToMedi, founded by Kino Song, is developing an AI voice agent for medical clinics that can adjust appointments, update records and coordinate internal tools.
- Waukesha-based You Fixed It, founded by Colin Matthes, provides detailed work plans and safety instructions for home maintenance, DIY projects and hands-on repairs.
- Madison-based OpScribe, founded by Ruffin Bryant, produces post-operative reports for surgeons using video feeds captured during procedures, helping improve billing accuracy and revenue recovery.
- Milwaukee-based Built-N-Bioassays, founded by Eric Ostovich and Rebecca Klaper, uses microbes, computer vision and machine learning to detect contaminants in freshwater quickly and accurately.
- Madison-based Frilly, founded by Jorge Reyna, helps small businesses appear in AI-generated search results by optimizing their online presence across AI discovery platforms.
The companies will present their progress during the gBETA at WCTC Applied AI Lab Spring 2026 Showcase, scheduled for April 29. Registration is now open for this free event.
