SPARC sparks business growth

Looking to grow your Milwaukee-area business? Take a look at Scale Up Milwaukee’s SPARC business accelerator program.

The program, presented in collaboration with the African American Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin (AACCWI) and Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC), provides business education and mentorship to BIPOC and women-owned businesses with annual revenue between $25,000 and $1 million.

SPARC has had 167 companies complete the accelerator since it launched in 2017. Collectively, those companies have increased their average revenue by 36%.

The ninth cohort of the SPARC program is currently accepting application from businesses interested in the program.

The accelerator runs from March to May. The virtual program meets on Tuesdays from 9:00 AM to Noon and Thursdays from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Scale Up Milwaukee director Elizabeth Cinzinsky states the program will also include opportunities for in person meetings.

The cohort is capped between 20-25 participants. Admission into the accelerator is $500.

Cinzinsky encourages business owners looking to grow their businesses, but do not qualify for the SPARC program to contact Scale Up Milwaukee to learn about other resources provided by the organization.
