The Way Out expands reach to U.S. veterans with strategic partnership
Milwaukee-based The Way Out made headlines with its innovative program connecting justice-involved jobseekers with employment opportunities, is now extending its services to U.S. military veterans—a vital step in supporting their transition to civilian careers.
The Way Out has announced a strategic partnership with Semper Forward and Mission Wisconsin, two organizations dedicated to helping U.S. veterans successfully navigate this transition.
“Mission Wisconsin has always been dedicated to supporting our service members and veterans as they transition back into civilian life,” Steven Janke, founder of Mission Wisconsin said. “By partnering with The Way Out, we’re creating new pathways to success for individuals who need it most and helping build stronger, more resilient communities in the process.”
This partnership offers a comprehensive approach, providing not only employment opportunities but also access to a network of wrap-around supportive services. These resources are crucial for ensuring that veterans and others returning to the workforce have the support they need to thrive in their new roles, while also boosting productivity and retention rates for employers.

“The needs of U.S. veterans align closely with those of justice-impacted job seekers and others seeking to reenter the workforce,” said Eli Rivera, cofounder and CEO of The Way Out. “We are committed to uplifting and supporting anyone seeking to enter or reenter America’s workforce. Our software platform and extensive network of supportive service partners are designed to provide the tools and resources necessary for success. This partnership with Semper Forward and Mission Wisconsin will further enhance our ability to make a meaningful impact.”
The Way Out’s proprietary employment platform is specifically designed to remove biases from the hiring process. By focusing on contextual and relative experiences rather than traditional resumes, the platform is particularly effective for veterans with non-traditional career paths.
This collaboration underscores a shared mission to empower individuals, transform lives, and strengthen communities. By prioritizing inclusive, sustainable employment, The Way Out, Semper Forward, and Mission Wisconsin are not only addressing America’s workforce shortage but also providing veterans with the critical support they need to succeed in civilian life.
