2023 Elevator Pitch Olympics

One of the most anticipated events during the Wisconsin Early Stage Symposium is the Elevator Pitch Olympics.

Fifteen companies from the region presented 90 second pitches to the audience and a panel of five investor judges. The judges for the event were: Greg Barnes of Hyde Park Venture Partners, Mary Hannes of Milwaukee’s Golden Angels Investors, Nassir Criss of Sixty8 Capital, David Kerr of Allos Ventures, and Mike Thorson of Wisconsin Investment Partners.

Of the companies pitching only Morel Energy, a company with plans to replace portables generators on construction sites, was from the Milwaukee 7 Region.

The winner of the competition was Dirac Labs, a Madison-based company that specializes in the development of quantum sensors for subterranean exploration to aid the discovery of rare metals.

The second-place winner was Washington D.C.-based Sygmatic, a foreign language acquisition platform.

The winner of the coveted People’s Choice award was Spectacle Health. The woman-owned, Madison-based company provides a platform to help people select Medicaid plans.

Additional contestants included: Happy Scratch, Micronics, Navigationis, Neurosetta, Okkanti, Oui Technologies, Parsley Solutions, Provoco AI, RevMethods, Saros Therapeutics, and Tosslet.
